I think UT roots help that, there’s something about East Tennessee that is very grounding. No matter where you end up on your quest whether it’s a big city, or a small town. Your story is unique and important. Remember what has shaped you. The way that a river moves, it’s a constant running water. It sometimes overflows its banks spilling out, sometimes it’s barren, it’s dry. It tumbles over rocks and leaves. It finds a smooth sailing area and then you go into dangerous rapids, and then it bounces into a brilliant pool
of blue. And it all flows into one big body of water. And that’s a big long metaphor. But um, I
like to hold on to what formed me, and being from east Tennessee is very much a part of that. My family and my friends keeping me grounded no matter what happens in life.
